Instagram expands features for its creator marketplace.
Instagram expands features for its creator marketplace.
April 17, 2023

Instagram brings news to its marketplace for content creators. Now adding new features with the goal of making it easier for brands to discover and work with creators on this platform. It is currently only available by invitation to businesses in the United States.

new implementations
The social network launched its creator marketplace last July. The first new API will give brands the option to easily reach creators in a prioritized inbox. On the other hand, the second API will allow brands to publish structured project briefs on the creator marketplace directly from a third party. Instagram is testing these APIs with a small portion of creator marketing partners, including Aspire, Captiv8, and CreatorIQ.

But not only that, it is also expanding this access to brand agencies. Instagram is testing this access with select partners, including Influential, WPromote, Rickhouse Media, Power Digital, Dentsu, OMG, and Brkfst.

As a novelty, agencies will have access to filter creators by gender, age, number of followers and interests. Agencies will also be able to filter creators based on their engaged audience demographics, such as gender, age, interests, country, and city. In addition, they will be able to send messages directly to creators' dedicated association message folders and post discoverable projects that eligible creators can apply to.

With these updates, the company's goal is to complement and help build on the strong ecosystem of agencies and third-party platforms that already help creators and brands form partnerships.
