In view of this very promising data, this is an excellent opportunity for online stores of any size and sector, so it is important to be well prepared to be successful in the coming months.

Channels consulted before buying online

Marketplaces such as Amazon (67%) continue to be the reference for product information among Spanish consumers. These are followed by search engines such as Google (56%) and the store's own website (40%).

Information sought before purchasing a product

When looking for products online, Spanish consumers look at
the price (89%) followed by the characteristics of the product (79%).

It is also noteworthy that almost 70% look at the opinions of others
buyers before deciding on one product or another and even for one store or another.

Thanks to the opinions of other buyers, the consumer finds important information about the reliability of a store, the quality of the service and the quality of the product. For this reason, it is essential that you integrate a review system, such as Trusted Shops, into your online store in order to collect customer reviews and ensure a pleasant shopping journey.
Impact of quality seals in eCommerce

A seal of quality is synonymous with trust in electronic commerce.
This gives the customer the security that your online store has been subjected to
an exhaustive control by an external supplier to guarantee the security of online purchases.

According to the Onsti study "Online purchases in Spain, 2021 edition", almost 40% of consumers look at quality seals or trustworthy codes of ethics before making an online purchase.

Although most consumers turn to the desktop computer for
make the purchase, we can see that this trend is decreasing over the years. This is due to the fact that more and more consumers prefer to make their purchases online through the mobile phone. Almost 60% of those surveyed say they have made an online purchase in 2021 using their smartphone.

Make sure your online store is responsive. Both your desktop and mobile website must be intuitive and load quickly if you want to increase your sales and conversion rate. In addition, Google penalizes those websites that are not responsive, so you already have several reasons to adapt your online store if you have not done so yet.

Payment methods used to buy online

The payment methods preferred by Spanish consumers when
buying a product online are debit cards (62%), followed by PayPal (54%) and end-of-the-month credit card (25%).

Be sure to offer the payment methods preferred by your customers in your online store to reduce the rate of abandoned carts in the check-out process.

If you decide to expand your business to other markets, don't forget to integrate the
